The long awaited Xpander cross has arrived in South Africa and is set to ruffle furthers is the seven-seater segment.

The Xpander Cross 1.5 4AT which is offered exclusively in automatic guise will cost you R419 995.
It has a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine, which sends 77 kW and 141 Nm to the front axle via a four-speed torque-converter automatic transmission.
We have not yet driven the Xpander but Mitsubishi Motors SA boasts that it has a combined fuel-economy figure of 7.0 L/100 km and can move from 0-100 in just 15.4 seconds and a top speed of 170 kph.

What makes it stand out?
It’s dynamic shield design, practicality, safety, and style is what makes it stand out. Its sleek finishes give you, the driver, the confidence on the road.
Inside, this derivative upgrades to a 4-spoke leather-trimmed steering wheel and gains an electric parking brake, soft-touch dashboard, 2nd-row USB charging ports, cruise control and a storage tray under the front-passenger seat.
The Xpander Cross furthermore scores a “new and easier-to-see” 8-inch colour instrument cluster, keyless entry, active stability control, hill-start assist and Mitsubishi’s “active yaw control”.
Outside, there is an addition of black-plastic covering the body (mostly around the wheel arches). The grille has a metallic black finish and the front foglamp bezels score silver-painted trim.
The front and rear lower garnish are finished in silver, while an extra 5 mm of ground clearance takes the listed figure to 225 mm.
More silver-painted trim is found on the lower edges of the doors, while the exterior door handles and side-mirror caps are finished in chrome.
The Xpander Cross also features black roof rails as standard.
