First launched globally in 2010, with a major upgrades in 2017, this SUV has come a long way.
The success for this car is undisputable with approximately 1 000 Duster units rolling off the production line daily at Renault’s Pitesti plant in Romania and over 2,2 million units sold worldwide.
With this reimagined beauty, Renault Duster is sure to add more accolades locally and on the Global front, ranking as Europe’s best-selling SUV across all segments in the retail market in 2022.
The model has been a significant player in the local compact SUV market since its debut in 2013, selling over 26 000 units by to date.
The brand popular for fuel efficiency, said the new Renault Duster represents the next chapter in the story of a model that has become a true Renault icon.
The 3rd generation Renault Duster is a major overhaul of the popular SUV. Built on the CMF-8 platform, it brings modernised styling, improved technology and more efficient powertrains while maintaining the Duster’s rugged appeal.
It is more muscular with a modern design, a tough stance signature Y-shaped LED headlights and taillights as well as a larger grille with the prominent new Renault logo.
It has chunky cladding and skid plates for off-road appeal, modular roof bars with a load capacity of 70kg (6MT 4WD) and an enhanced interior experience.
Inside, you will find a 10,1-inch infotainment touchscreen system with Renault’s latest User Interface wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The new Duster is powered with a 1,2 lite turbocharged petrol mild hybrid with improved fuel efficiency boasting class-leading approach and departure angles on the 4WD.
Its chassis has been improved for rigidity. The safety of the Duster has been enhanced to include: Six airbags (Driver, Passenger, Side & Curtain), Blind Spot Detection, Tyre Pressure Detector Electric Parking Brake (EPB) and paddle shift levers on the steering wheel.
It has a hands-free Keycard for a more convenient and seamless way to access and start the vehicle (Intens EDC 4×2).
About the fresh striking design, Renault Design Director, David Durand, said they started off by refining the proportions to achieve a strong, balanced stance.
“Getting the proportions right early on eliminates the need for superficial styling tweaks later,” he said.
The sharp, vertical front, chamfered wheel arches, large tailgate and seamlessly integrated side windows contribute to its powerful look.
The front and rear skid plates are mass-dyed, eliminating the need for paint and offering environmental benefits as well as increased durability.
The side underbody shields, wheel arch guards and other exterior elements are crafted from Starkle®, a durable material containing up to 20% recycled content.
The higher ground clearance (up to 217mm (4WD)) makes it more capable off-road and gives it a more dominant stance.
The driving dynamics makes the Duster ready for any Adventure with the new off-road capabilities: The 4WD version offers 4WD Terrain Control with five driving modes: AUTO, SNOW, MUD/SAND, OFF-ROAD and ECO.
The Duster 4X2 EDC models are equipped with a 1,3L turbocharged petrol engine, paired with the EDC automatic transmission in a front wheel drive 4X2 configuration. Power output equates to 113kW, with 250Nm torque at 1,700 rpm. Depending on driving conditions and trim, fuel consumption is between 6.5L/ 100km, with CO2 emissions at 147g/ km.
The new Duster is available in three derivatives: Zen 6MT 4WD Mild Hybrid, Zen EDC 4×2, and the top-tier option, Intens EDC 4×2.
