OMODA C4 MAKES GLOBAL DEBUT, SIGNALLING A NEW ERA OF CO-CREATION

THE GLOBAL debut of the OMODA C4 — formerly known as the C3 — recently took place in China, drawing international media, influencers, and fans from around the world to witness the bold innovation behind OMODA’s latest creation and to glimpse what the future of mobility may hold.

Just six months ago, the OMODA C3 made its world premiere, capturing the imagination of a new generation of drivers with its distinctive Cyber Mecha design.

The energy and feedback that followed made one thing clear: this model had the potential to go even further.

Guided by insights from global users and co-creation sessions with early adopters, OMODA has now evolved the C3 into the C4 — a model that embodies stronger character, improved performance, and an even deeper connection with its community.

This was more than a product reveal; it was a dialogue. The debut represented OMODA’s evolution from “building cars for users” to “co-creating with users,” reinforcing the brand’s belief that the future of mobility will be shaped not by manufacturers alone, but by shared vision and participation.

The event also underscored OMODA & JAECOO’s ongoing commitment to working hand in hand with their global community to redefine the driving experience.

The OMODA C4 continues to express the brand’s signature Cyber Mecha design philosophy — a daring blend of futuristic aesthetics and mechanical precision.

Inspired by the O-Universe concept, the vehicle’s signature lighting design serves as a symbolic bridge between the digital and physical worlds, capturing OMODA’s forward-thinking, tech-driven identity.

“Cross-border design isn’t just about combining styles,” explains Hans Greyling, General Manager of OMODA & JAECOO South Africa. “It challenges us to rethink established norms entirely, encouraging innovation by questioning the foundation of design itself.”

Every detail of the OMODA C4, from its sharp headlights and sculpted side profile to the intricate lines of its rear fascia, reflects the spirit of a next-generation crossover SUV.

Behind the scenes, OMODA’s global design and engineering teams collaborated through countless refinements to balance futuristic styling with everyday functionality.

“People are drawn to a sci-fi aesthetic, but style alone isn’t enough. It has to be backed by substance,” adds Greyling. “The OMODA C4 is built for lifestyle adventurers — bold thinkers who challenge convention. True innovation demands courage, and that courage comes from deeply understanding the people we design for.”

The C4 will be available with both internal combustion engines (ICE) and hybrid (HEV) powertrains, giving drivers the freedom to choose how they experience performance and efficiency.

This dual offering reflects OMODA’s strategy of making next-generation mobility accessible to a broader audience, allowing drivers to transition toward electrification at their own pace without sacrificing power, range, or driving pleasure.

The OMODA C4 is set to arrive in South Africa in 2026, marking another major milestone for the rapidly growing brand.

“South Africa is an incredibly important market for OMODA and JAECOO,” says Shannon Gahagan, National Brand and Marketing Manager for OMODA & JAECOO South Africa. “With the introduction of the OMODA C4 in the latter part of 2026, we’re expanding our range to meet the growing demand for vehicles that combine expressive design, cutting-edge technology, and outstanding value — all without compromise.”
