Toyota has won the most prestigious Cars Awards title for a 3rd consecutive time.
This win means the brand has won this award five times now.
And such a record can only mean one thing-the love car lovers have for the brand.
This was revealed during the announcement of the Cars.co.za Consumer Awards on Thursday, 27 February 2025.
The awards held at Waterfall City Park at Mall of Africa in a glamorous Cirque du Soleil-themed event were attended by hundreds of guests.
Prior the final event, about 39 cars underwent back-to-back testing at the Gerotek Test Facilities in Pretoria late last year.
Nineteen judges including the Cars.co.za editorial team and guest experts, scored the finalists to choose the winners.
The BMW and Toyota dominated the night with Toyota walking away with the night’s most prestigious award: The Manufacturer of the Year.

Premium Crossover: Mini Countryman S ALL4
Executive SUV: BMW X3 30e xDrive M Sport
Premium SUV: BMW X5 xDrive30d M Sport
Adventure SUV: Land Rover Defender 110 D350 X-Dynamic HSE
Leisure Double Cab: Toyota Hilux Double Cab 2.4GD-6 Raider 4×4 Auto

The Cars.co.za Awards was inaugurated in 2015 and takes on a consumer-centric approach, with contenders not strictly limited to new releases.
They have been sponsored by Absa since 2023 and endorsed by the Automotive Business Council-Naamsa.
