THE DFSK South Africa team dressed in black in solidarity with the Ekurhuleni community following the recent murders of women in and around the area.
The gesture represents the team’s support for the victims, their loved ones and everyone affected by the violence that has shaken communities across the East Rand.
DFSK South Africa condemned the killings and expressed its support for the Kempton Park community during what has been an extremely difficult time.
“We are living in a society where lawlessness and violent crime have become far too common, and these are the heartbreaking consequences. My heart bleeds for the families who have lost their loved ones. No family should have to experience this kind of pain,” said Gina Giani, CEO of DFSK South Africa.
“Today, we wear black to honour the lives lost, support the grieving families and send a clear message that our community stands together.”
The company also extended its deepest condolences to every family affected by the tragedies.
According to police, the bodies of nine women have been discovered in various parts of the East Rand over the past two months.
Four women were found in Rhodesfield, Kempton Park, while two others were discovered in Olifantsfontein. Another woman was found near the Mall of Tembisa.
A further body was discovered dumped in front of a clinic in KwaThema, while the ninth body was found in Dawn Park, Boksburg, on Thursday.
Police have said they are working to identify those responsible and bring them to justice.
In a development linked to the Dawn Park case, police arrested three suspects – a man and two women – in connection with the murder of the woman whose body was discovered in the area.
The trio was arrested over the weekend by the Gauteng Murder and Robbery Unit.
