LAST YEAR, the Festival of Motoring proved once again why it has become one of the standout events on South Africa’s motoring calendar.
The event brought some of the world’s biggest automotive brands together in one place, giving visitors the opportunity to get up close with the latest vehicles and, in many cases, experience them from behind the wheel.
The good news for motoring enthusiasts is that the experience is returning — and this year’s event promises even more.
The Festival of Motoring will return to the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit from 28 to 30 August 2026, marking its ninth edition.
Powered by WesBank, the annual event has established itself as a platform where consumers can interact directly with the latest vehicles through a combination of track and off-road driving experiences.
In 2025, CarTrends attended the event and witnessed visitors experiencing some of the latest models.
The response from attendees was overwhelmingly positive, with many visitors indicating that they planned to return for the 2026 edition.
This year’s programme will once again combine motoring action with entertainment. Visitors can look forward to the BMW M Performance Parts Race Series as well as a Simola Hillclimb Experience activation.
Beyond the track, the festival will feature car club displays, a retail area and lifestyle exhibitors, including Castrol, the Grand Prix Store and Autostyle Motorsport.
A new Adventure Zone will add another dimension to the event, offering visitors paid drifting and karting experiences.
Festival of Motoring Show Director Judy Maharaj says the event has been designed to offer more than simply a day at the circuit.
“We have designed every track drive, every display and every performance to ensure that when a visitor walks through the gates of Kyalami, they aren’t just attending an event, but they are entering a space where their passion is validated and their ‘motoring journey’ memories are stored.”
“This is the one platform where the entire community gathers to create the stories that will define the next generation of our motoring legacy,” Maharaj said.

Tickets are available through Howler, with the festival taking place at Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit from 28 to 30 August 2026.
