LEAPMOTOR is expanding its South African line-up with the launch of the B10 Hybrid EV, broadening its offering beyond the C10 Hybrid EV.
This compact SUV ushers in a new generation of intelligent vehicles designed to make electrified mobility more accessible, simpler, and fully aligned with everyday needs, delivering true “Peace of Drive.”
Built on the LEAP 3.5 technological platform, already recognized in several international markets, the B10 combines the performance and driving enjoyment of an electric vehicle with exceptional range, meeting the expectations of motorists looking to transition to electrification with complete confidence.
The model also offers a seamless connected experience through the Leapmotor App, enabling remote vehicle management, real-time vehicle monitoring, charging scheduling, and over-the-air (OTA) software updates.
The connected experience is further enhanced by Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, providing seamless access to smartphone-based navigation, media and communication services.
With orders already opened, the B10 Hybrid EV will become the second Leapmotor model available in South Africa, giving customers another practical entry point into new-energy mobility.
The new Leapmotor B10 adopts REEV (Range Extended Electric Vehicle) technology, which differs fundamentally from conventional hybrid systems.
In this architecture, the wheels are powered exclusively by the electric motor.
The 1.5-liter gasoline engine never drives the wheels directly; it acts solely as a generator, producing electricity when the battery level requires it.
The result is a driving experience comparable to that of a pure electric vehicle: quiet, smooth, responsive, and offering instant torque, providing a natural and engaging driving sensation while eliminating long-distance range anxiety.
The Leapmotor B10 features an 18.8 kWh battery offering up to 86 km of pure electric range, ideal for most daily journeys. Thanks to its range extender, the vehicle can achieve up to 900 km of combined range, significantly reducing the need for charging on long trips.
With a combined fuel consumption of just 0.9 L/100 km, the B10 delivers an efficient balance between electric mobility and long-distance driving capability.
The B10 incorporates the latest innovations developed by Leapmotor to provide an intuitive and connected experience. Key features include: a 14.6-inch 2.5K HD central touchscreen and a modern digital interface.
For safety, the vehicle includes: Seven airbags, 17 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), 5-star safety rating from Euro NCAP.
These features deliver a high level of protection for all occupants in all driving conditions.
The B10 is integrated into a complete digital ecosystem through the Leapmotor App, enabling users to stay connected to their vehicle at all times. Via their smartphone, users can: Lock or unlock the vehicle remotely, Activate the air conditioning before departure, Check battery level and available range, Monitor driving statistics, Schedule charging sessions, Receive over-the-air (OTA) software updates.

To mark its introduction to the market, B10 Hybrid EV is available in Style and Design derivatives for R499,900 and R549,900 respectively.
